About Gill Jones

The main focus and inspiration of Gill's work was for many years the moorland and coastline of North Devon.  While working for her B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art, her concern was with the human figure and the vulnerability of Man. She graduated with First Class Honours in 2011. Currently she is working once again with watercolour and is back on the beaches and moors getting inspiration from the weather and the views, and is also enjoying expanding her printmaking techniques.

"I wanted to let you know that I have been looking to replace the naff replica pictures that were on my lounge wall for the last four years and was delighted when I spotted your beautiful work... The paintings now have pride of place on my walls and I adore them... Thanks again for bringing the outside in." Lisa Moore

In 2016 Gill was busy exhibiting at The Plough, Torrington, The Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe and North Devon Art Trek in Barnstaple.  In 2017 she started the year being part of the North Devon Open Exhibition at the Museum in Barnstaple. Later in the year she was part of The Artist's Garden Exhibition at RHS Rosemoor, Appledore Book Week and "Folioists one Year On" at Folio, Ilfracombe.  In 2018 she will be part of North Devon Art Trek.

Other work can now be found in the Portland Gallery, Portland Street, Ilfracombe; The Jill Rousseau Gallery, Cooper Street, Bideford; The Reed Gallery, Bude Street, Appledore; The Square Studio, Northam and in her own studio in Barnstaple.
